Kaye Montgomery from Ecological Connections has been germinating and raising seedlings of appropiate selected species and provenance for this project for LACA as part of the funding allocated for the project.
Local residents living nearby have close access to a very special place on our planet with vegetation that grows nowhere else in the world. What once covered 10,000 hectates is mostly gone. It is on the brink of extinction (Much like our local koalas) unless we take appropriate action now. Many thanks also to members and enthusiastic but camera shy Champney workers Mimi and Richard who attended. They regularly attend a monthly working bee at Champney's which is another remnant site.
Bilarabyn Reserve is a beautiful area with walking tracks and expansive views extending to the south, west, and north of Beaudesert. Anyone wanting more information about this site or with an interest in helping with the conservation preservation education or revegetation, please contact LACA on 0408 785448 or via the contact page.
