There are environmental matters of national significance and site constraints that have not been adequately addressed by the ULDA and have never been addressed at any other planning to date for the Greater Flagstone and Mt Lindesay North Beaudesert Area ( e.g. Melaleuca irbyana and spotted tailed quolls) . A business case has never been presented and a planning assessment has never been done to justify that this location is the best location in Greater Flagstone or Mt Lindesay North Beaudesert Area to locate this proposed land use.
There have been no detailed field assessments conducted to ground truth the biodiversity of this area, or its linkages with surrounding local habitat, local corridors, state declared bioregional corridors or environmental matters of national significance. The Biodiversity Framework Strategy Report by ULDA is biased and has not investigated the whole site for its natural and biodiversity values.
We believe that the lack of detailed field work and biodiversity surveys, no detailed Environmental Impact Study and ULDA's predominantly desktop study using data from 2002 and 2006, clearly indicate that the attributes of this site have not been fully or thoroughly investigated. The proposed site for the proposed North Maclean industry and business landuse should be completely removed from the Greater Flagstone UDA.
